May 17th, 2019
Indonesian government representatives and officials of the City of Somersworth, New Hampshire, United States, are working together to build the first Indonesian community in the Hilltop City area referred to as "Little Indonesia".
Indonesia's ambassador to the United States, Mahendra Siregar, visited Somersworth on Wednesday and Thursday this week to begin the establishment of the Indonesian Welcome Gate. This marks the establishment of a location called Little Indonesia on Main Street.
Mahendra called the development a historic step. He hopes this will pay off for all including Somersworth residents. "This is a very positive and supportive and visionary step for the mayor to propose this," Mahendra said as reported by Fosters.com on Thursday, May 16, 2019.
